Waking up early was never my thing.  

You see, even though I’m proud of who I am today, there was a time when I wasn’t so proud or so full of energy.  I’d routinely sleep in till 2:45 pm.

Depressed.  Alone. Sad.  This wasn’t me. 

Those days went by so slowly.  I never felt confident in my body.  I always felt lazy and was definitely NOT motivated to move myself forward (except towards the fridge for midnight snacking.)

Deep inside, I knew I was still capable of more.

Fitness had always been my outlet.  Even though I still felt depressed, I knew I had to do something. Anything was better than staying the way I was feeling. So I decided to start training myself again.  It had been over a year since I was consistent in my fitness.  But I knew that I was committed.

My nutrition habits had also slipped up.  I had put on an extra 23 pounds (mostly fat.) My body needed a complete transformation. 

Changing my nutrition habits helped immensely. Healthy snacks and delicious meals started to become a part of who I was.  My nightly excursions to the fridge for midnight snacks disappeared.

I finished the 12 week online program that summer and lost 17 pounds.  I kept the promise I made to myself when I started. I had kept my commitment.

Even though I was done with the program, I was addicted to improving myself.  I felt like a fire had ignited in the core of my being.  I loved it.  I decided to sign up for a gym membership the next week.

Fast forward a few years.  I was working as a fitness coach at 24 Fitness Gym.  Confident and happy with myself, I loved my work.

A man named Francis walked into the gym for a fitness consultation. After we shook hands, I asked Francis what some of his struggles were in his health and fitness.  

Francis shared.  He explained that as psychologist working long hours each day, leaving him with hardly any time for himself.  This meant that he spent most of his days feeling pretty miserable.
